Ebook Review – Rotten Apple – Natasha A. Salnikova

Rotten Apple

I found this book very entertaining and an overall very good read.

You can’t help becoming involved in this book as it’s a believable read with many thought provoking moments with a really great ending. I am not going to go crazy and say it’s the best book I have read but you will enjoy this read, the author has done a really good job.

About the Author……in her words

Well, I’m Russian. I was born in Kazakhstan and moved to Moscow. I came to America eleven years ago. In Russia I was a TV host, a TV writer at one of the biggest TV stations, a novelist among of other things. Now I write books and also articles for a Russian newspaper. I’ve done a couple of commercials here and even independent movies.

From where do you get your inspirations for your characters and storylines in your books?

Inspirations and ideas always come unexpectedly. “Quiet River” is based on a real story. Part of it. “The voice of waterfalls” was “born” in the car. I was driving, there was a car in front of me with one of the back lights flashing the whole way. And I thought – what if there is somebody in a trunk? What if the driver is helping that person, not kidnapping her? What if he’s not what she thinks? For one of my novels the inspiration came from a dream. About “Rotten Apple” I thought after watching a crime show. Writer’s head is always on a hunt and anything can inspire a new book.

What were your favourite books?

Feodor Dostoevsky, Anton Chekhov, Stephen King are my favorite writers and I like almost all books from them.

What are the best and worst things about being a writer?

It’s great to have these ideas in your head and dream about sharing them with people. You think how cool the story could be and about the characters you might create. The worst part comes after that. You actually have to work to make it happened. Writing is a hard work, but rewarding. I truly enjoy it.

Tell us a little bit about your books, who they are aimed at, and where people can buy them?

Most of my books are thrillers. And then follow subgenres: psychological, supernatural. I enjoy developing interesting characters just as much as a plot and all of my novels have some level of psychological tone to them. Some people call one of my novel “The voice of waterfalls”, horror. If it is, it wasn’t intentional. I think horror and comedies are very difficult to write. It’s very difficult to scare people or make them laugh.

I sell my books on Amazon mostly. Some of my books you can also find on B&N site, Kobo, I tunes.
