Kewel Boxes – January Unboxing – London Calling

London-Calling--MENU (3)I was very pleased when Kewel Boxes asked me if I would do another review of their box (this time the January box).

The Razberry Juice team is so affiliated with the Kewel Boxes team (they are the same people give or take a few newbies) that they have shipped it out to me, a hopefully independent reviewer!

The box arrived on Thursday, and I was very eager to rip it open, they are still using plain brown boxes, with a Kewel Boxes sticker on it. Not having a printed bespoke box doesn’t bother me at all, I assume using a basic box gives them more money to spend on the contents and I don’t keep the boxes and so I don’t care what is printed on them!!

January’s theme was London Calling which sounds quite exciting, anything with a British feel to it is going to tick boxes for me!

So what’s in the box?Werewolf mag

First out is a fridge magnet – it’s a nice large one, with what I think is a poster from the film “An American Werewolf in London”, which is a brilliant horror film from the 1980s. It’s a filler item I guess, but a nice one, and one which has already found its way to my fridge!

signNext out is possibly my favourite item – a metal plaque from the film Shaun of the Dead, which is another really great film and one I have seen countless times, the plaque is not huge, but it comes with four sticky pads so you can pop it anywhere – really a nice a different item which I will definitely find a home for!

A keyring is out of the box next, and is somewhat surprisingly, the Keyringonly Sherlock item! Being a huge Sherlock fan I was really happy to find something Sherlock themed. This looks to be an officially licenced item which is nice. It’s basically a vinyl keyring, but I like it!

Then we have the two jewels in the Kewel!

Finding two Pop Vinyls in the box was a very nice surprise, and one which I was not expecting.

magentafinalFirst I had a Rocky Horror Show Pop, I admit I have not seen the Rocky Horror Show, either on the stage or the film version, but it is a nice looking Pop figure and different one to the standard! I pulled out Magenta from my box. I have no clue who she is or what she does, but it’s a nice Pop to add to my small collection!

The last item out of the box is arguably the best – a brilliant Shaun of the Dead Pop! I got the Simon Pegg Shaun character, it’s a very nice well detailed Pop figure, Shaun is wearing his work uniform and is carrying a cricket bat.

All in all, I am so very impressed with this box, I like everything it contains, even the fridge magnet and keyring which are undoubtedly filler items are great fun and useful.

This is the third box that Kewel Boxes have produced and I think they going great guns!shaun

The box is priced at £16.49 (plus P&P – which is £3.50) in the UK. Although I didn’t buy this box and was sent it in return for an honest review, I do know that they do not operate an automatic renewal system, so no one can get caught out. I am not sure exactly how it works, but I think they send out reminders or “invites” to subscribers who can then choose if they want the box or not.

Great Box – I really enjoyed it !
